Meet the Founder - Sam Mayfield
I’m the founder and creative heart behind Bloom and Nest Designs, where my passion lies in transforming spaces into soulful sanctuaries that feel both elevated and deeply personal. I believe a well-designed home isn’t just beautiful, it’s a living reflection of your story, your rhythm, and the way you truly live.
After more than 20 years in the fast-paced world of finance, I found myself completely uninspired. Numbers, spreadsheets, and market trends no longer sparked joy. I was craving something creative, something that made me feel alive again.
My love for curating beautiful spaces actually began years earlier, in my first tiny New York apartment. I didn’t have much, just imagination, determination, and a small budget. I layered ruffled rugs on the floor, mixed thrifted treasures with DIY touches, and somehow turned that little apartment into a cozy haven. Friends were always gathering there, sipping from champagne flutes surrounded by laughter and mismatched pillows. That space had soul and I realized I’d found my way of creating comfort and beauty from the ordinary.
Eventually, I took a leap of faith. I traded balance sheets for color swatches and earned my professional credentials in Interior Design Principles and Decorating from Emory University.
Now, through Bloom and Nest Designs, I help others create spaces that tell their stories, whimsical, welcoming, and full of heart. Places where you can bloom, rest, gather, and grow.
